What Is VIRAL MEDIA

Most of you probably know what I mean by viral media. But in short it's the term for any video, photo, or audio file that spreads, metaphoriclaly speaking, like a virus. It spreads with a life of its own through email, websites, word of mouth, etc. The media hits a wide mainstream audience and tends to be funny or shocking
.

“Why do we need an iPod FM transmitter?” is a question that is asked very often by tech-savvy music freaks. Well, there is probably no one-word or one-sentence answer to this question. It rather needs a somehow elaborate explanation. In fact, the best thing about an iPod is that it is portable; you can take it with you without feeling disturbed. So, it provides you with music on the go minus the hassles of carrying a large device.

An iPod is hardly larger than a deck of cards, yet it can store thousands of songs or audio books and lets you take them wherever you go. By virtue of its strong rechargeable battery, it continues to play on hours after hours. But the easily portable quality of the iPod can lead you to a problem ─ you can get so addicted to it that you would want it to be with you every where you go. Then how can you take your tunes along when you drive your car?

If you are fortunate to have a BMW, you can surely "iPod your BMW” as it is your special privilege because of the tie-ups between BMW and Apple. But what about those who are not fortunate enough to own the latest model BMW? Well, they do not need to give way to despair. They can use an iPod FM Transmitter and take delight from non-stop music. The market offers a good variety of transmitters to choose from.

Are PlayStation 3 Graphics As good as they could be???

This third release in the Sony game consoles line is part of the PlayStation series from this innovative world leading company. It was launched in the last quarter of 2006 and has been met with enthusiasm by gamers who are constantly on the lookout for more power, faster consoles.

The PlayStation 3 graphics are said to be better than ever before giving better realism to the gameplay. PlayStation 3 can connect to the Internet through the PlayStation only Network allowing others to play against each other, as well as having high quality multimedia capability.

The new Blue-ray

The use of Blue-ray disc technology as one of its primary storage mediums has allowed increased storage which allows more quality in the graphics. Blue-ray disc allows hight quality graphics as well as better sound than most others.

This makes the game graphics real which gamers are always looking for the most realistic experience possible. The quality of almost real graphics of game play is amazing. Other gaming consoles have caught up yet.

At the same time, many others have had comments saying that the graphics are not as good as they could be. Some games are looking at it for another angle: they simply want realism and quick life like reaction times, in the gaming enviroment.

Extensive Graphics Hardware

PlayStation 3 graphics technology is supplied by NVIDIA. They are well known for high power PC video cards for gaming PCs. Both Sony and NVDIA have brought more realism to the PlayStation 3 graphics.

The RSX or reality synthesizer is the main reason for this new degree of graphics in this particular gaming console. It is one of the most complicate processor for graphics ever made and combined with new Cell technology, it will result to fast real time graphics and faster 3D gameplay. At a unveiling at technology show, The NVIDIA showed RSX would be more powerful than two GeForce 6800 Ultra video cards combined.

The new NVIDIA graphics power can give resolutions of 480i/576i SD up to 1080p HD. PlayStation 3 graphics has 256 MB XDR in the main memory and around the same in the RSX video memory.

The PlayStation 3 graphics are a major advancement in technology. Sony has worked well NVIDIA to get more power into the already powered graphics machine. These advanced in gaming power and complex displays allow Sony to provide the better gaming environment, increasing realistic gameplay and enjoyment of the games that come in the future.

All about PlayStation 3 Controllers

PlayStation 3 controllers are used to take the actions in this popular consoles games. Sony previously released the SIXAXIS as the official PlayStation 3 controller. It is a wireless controller that has many different options.

Recently, the SIXAXIS design was a breakthrough in controller design. Using sensors designed to read when a player angles, tilts, thrusts, or pulls, the SIXAXIS controller allows game play to become a natural extension of the player's body.

It is currently being phased out of the market of gaming and will be replaced by yet another Dual Shock controller. The Dual Shock 3 has yet to be released in this 2008 summer season and will be formally introduced as the official PlayStation 3 controller.

PlayStation 3 Controllers: The features

Newer controllers for the PlayStation use Bluetooth technology but also have the option of being connected to a PC and can be charged with a mini USB cable. USB Charging

is done automatically the controller through the system at any time. (Using any one of the four USB connectors on the PlayStation 3.)

The batteries in the controllers have an estimated running time of around 30 hours. The batteries are the newer lithium ion type.

These PlayStation 3 controllers are similar in design to the Dual Shock controller design that as been used since the first PlayStation device came out.

This means that the controls have the standard 2 pads in the front of the controllers with two thumb sticks on top. The usual six buttons for movement and controlling the characters have been retained. The console can have up to seven controllers at a time.

The new controllers for the are very light. Some critics are quick to comment and criticize as having a cheap feel. The lack of weight can be important for those who will play on the PlayStation for many hours without a break.

These newer controllers will eventually feel comfortable as your arms and hands get used to using them.

Sony announced that because of the included motion sensors, the vibration feature of previous PlayStation controllers was removed, stating that the vibration would interfere with motion-sensing. The so called rumble feature reacts when your character in the game gets hit or when there is a lot of movement in the game.

These PlayStation 3 controllers allow the players a uniquely large range of movements and options. Combination's of different moves are sure to happen, as many new gamers using the PlayStation are sure to be comfortable using the new design of the controllers.

The Playstation 3 controller is constantly evolving to change with the new and more elaborate games available. Hopefully it will move into the more virtual game where the controls with react faster, in real time, and appear as part of you body. Maybe a glove or movements change with your body movement, like the Nintendo Wii

X-Arcade Double Joystick-Standing the Test of Time?

The X-Arcade system is one that has truly stood the test of time. Most people playing games take the components and parts for granted, but build quality, layout and cost, truly affect the overall gaming experience. Lets take a look at the most essential part of any gaming system you'll ever use-The X-Arcade Joystick.

I've actually read some X-Arcade reviews saying this is the best arcade joystick on the market. After buying it and testing it out on my machine, I'd have to say that's just about right. I've tried others, but this really is a fantastic piece of plastic and metal.

Lets take a look at 3 aspects that make this joystick so popular; build quality, layout, and flexibility of use.

First, the build quality is top notch. From the outside to the inside it's as the website says about the machines: Built like a friggin' tank! It's not my intention to sit around and wax poetic about this machine but man, I put it through its paces with a bunch of fighter games, most notably being Street Fighter (My favorite game of all time). Not a glitch, and I'm a big guy who really torques things around. The reason for this is probably the micro switches under the joystick that allow everything to function well. X-Arcade makes them in house instead of using the other choices on the market. Without good switches, you can basically be assured that ur trusty X-Arcade joystick is eventually going to fail. Fortunately, this one will not. Somehow, I think me and my new toy will be together for a long time.

Second is the layout, and oh what a layout the X-Arcade joystick has! 18 buttons--8 for each player and 1 on each side for pinball simulators. Using this was very intuitive. The buttons are placed in a way that works with the body's natural movement. I have big hands yet it there was never a problem with hitting the wrong buttons or hitting 2 at the same time as sometimes happens with other consoles I've played. Overall, I was really impressed.

Finally, we're looking at flexibility of use. Provided you have the proper adapter, it can be used on PlayStation 2, Xbox, Game Cube, or PC. I lugged my new X-Arcade Joystick around to some friends houses to on their Game Cube and X-Box (I have the Playstation2 and PC). It worked great on all 4. I hate to wax poetic on the greatness of this X-Arcade joystick, but it really is a good component. So much for my impartial review. This is pretty "friggin" cool.

Information about iPod Touch 16 Gb reviews

The iPod Touch is a great product with lots to offer, but its premium price tag and limited capacity should give some shoppers pause. Don't assume that Apple's most expensive iPod is the best solution for your needs. If you're planning on watching a lot of video, high-capacity products like the iPod Classic or Archos 605 WiFi will allow you to load entire seasons of your favorite TV shows

Design
For better or worse, the iPod Touch is clearly the iPhone's baby brother. Like most products that roll out of Apple, the Touch shows the love of committed designers, hardware engineers, and usability experts. The Touch measures a slim and pocketable 4.3 inches by 2.4 inches by 0.31 inch, with an all-metal-and-glass design that feels as expensive as it looks. Because nothing will ruin a portable video player faster than a gouge across its screen

It's no surprise that Apple has been on a screaming rampage of success with its gorgeous, high tech products these last few years. Every new release seems to cast a heavy shadow over its predecessor. This is certainly the case with the new iPod touch. The improvements over earlier designs - bigger, better LCD, touch screen controls, thinner frame, Wi-Fi access, etc. - are dramatic leaps forward, not only for the iPod itself but for future Apple products. The 16GB iPod touch, selling for $399 USD ($299 USD for the 8GB version), has all the signs of a permanent, monumental success. Read our review and check out our video to find out why you'll want this multi-function media player in your arsenal of tech.

As with other iPods, the touch lacks a user-replaceable battery, a memory expansion port, and stereo Bluetooth (a shame in such a mediacentric device), but with such an artful design and excellent performance, those are forgivable flaws. The iPod touch is the premier convergence device. And if you are making that choice, iPhone clearly wins out – it’s still got that neat interface, plus a whole variety of text- and phone-specific functions. It’s a superb phone that happens to double up as a slimline, pocket-sized media player, with the sort of memory one would expect from a product that size.”

“Pros: Beautiful and intuitive interface; iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store is fleet over fast Wi-Fi and very convenient; web browsing and YouTube video on an iPod; extra applications useful.

Cons: Darkly lit video and photos lack detail; no external volume controls or support for remote control; incompatible with old video accessories; no calendar event editing.”

Great, but isn't £279 a lot of cash to spend on a 16GB media player? Wouldn't you be better off with an iPod Classic? Well, there's not much in terms of raw specifications to distinguish it from the rest of the iPod range. You get the usual limited range of music file format support - just AAC, Apple Lossless and MP3 for music and H.264 and MPEG4 files for video. There's no FLAC, Ogg Vorbis or WMA support, nor any for DivX or WMV, MPEG1 or 2. Although very beautifully designed and fantastically thin at just 8mm, its pocket footprint is actually a little larger than a standard iPod, measuring 62mm wide by 110mm tall. And battery life is nothing to write home about either, weighing in at up to 22 hours for audio and a par-score five hours for video.

Are Their Ears Ringing?

Have you ever wondered how much damage is being done to your child's ears by listening to music through headphones? With the popularity of iPods and MP3 players on the rise, doctors are seeing an increase in noise-induced hearing loss. And it's happening at an ever-younger age. Ringing in the ears and difficulty distinguishing sounds or hearing normal conversations are often the first signs of damage. Hearing loss used to only be an adult problem, but now it's appearing as early as the teenage years.

The effects of sound on hearing are based on two factors: noise level and length of exposure. Any sound that measures over 70 dBA has the potential for causing damage, depending on how long you listen to it.

Just to give you an idea, a normal conversation measures about 60 A-weighted decibals (dBA), while a chain saw has an ear-piercing measurement of around 110 dBA. Several provinces in Canada have capped occupational noise at a maximum of no more than eight hours worth, at 85 dBA.

Let's compare that to pop music. Headphones can sure make listening in noisy or crowded situations more enjoyable, but parents should be aware of the long-term effects of doing so. Pop music sound levels on an average headphone set range from 86-102 dBA, with some topping out even higher. At 102 dBA you would only have to be exposed for twelve minutes to meet the Canadian's maximum recommendations, and at 114 dBA it would only take one minute!

In-ear headphones, or ear buds, are even worse. That's because they can form a vacuum in your ear, raising the dBA level by as much as 6-9 decibels.

apple

pple is taking more heat over its anti-competitive practices regarding its iPod copy protection technology. The French online music store Virgin Mega has now filed a legal complaint against Apple, saying that Apple is engaged in anti-competitive practices by refusing to license the copy protection technology used in its iPod consumer electronics devices. This is yet more news about Apple's anti-competitive stance on music.

Real Networks recently called on Apple to open up its Fairplay digital rights technology so that other competing music services could transfer music content onto Apple's iPod players. But Apple apparently isn't really interested in open music standards. In fact, today Apple is beginning to act a lot like the MPAA or the RIAA, both of which strongly promote closed, proprietary digital rights management schemes for limiting the copying and the transfer of music from one device to another. Apple is apparently playing the same game now by blocking competing music services from being able to easily transfer music content to iPod devices.

It is a monopolistic practice by Apple, no doubt, and it runs counter to the philosophy of the Apple community, which has traditionally been far more open and fair-minded. Perhaps this is an indication of a fundamental shift in the philosophy of Apple computer. From here forward, the company seems intent on monopolizing its relationship with consumers and limiting their options rather than expanding them.

For my part, I think the iPod has always been an overpriced, underperforming consumer electronics device and I neither own one nor recommend it. If you want to play music files, go get yourself an iRiver flash MP3 player, which holds far more music than other flash players on the market, and has outstanding battery life to boot. It will be interesting to keep an eye on this situation and watch what Apple does down the road to inconvenience customers in its attempt to monopolize its intellectual property sales channels.

Punjabi music and songs

Punjabi folk music is highly rhythmic, and very diverse. The western region is the home of styles like dhoola and mahiya, while the popular boli style is performed different across the region. The vocals are another integral part of Punjabi music, as are instruments like the dhol, tumbi, dhad sarangi, algoza and Ektara.

Punjab

The birthplace of Bhangra, the Punjab is a region extending over part of Northern India and Northeastern Pakistan. Translated, the name "Punjab" means the "Land of Five Rivers." The people of the Punjab are called Punjabis and they speak a language called Punjabi. The three main religions in the area are Sikhism, Hinduism, and Islam. The region has been invaded and ruled by many different empires and races, including the Aryans, Persians, Greeks, Muslims, and Mongols. Around the time of the 15th Century, Guru Nanak Dev founded the Sikh religion, which quickly came to prominence in the region. The 19th Century saw the beginning of British rule, which led to the emergence of several heroic freedom fighters, the subject of many Bhangra songs. Finally, the Punjab was split between Pakistan and India at the end of British rule in 1947. This partitioning resulted in a large migration of Punjabis into the United Kingdom, which eventually led to the emergence of Bhangra in Western clubs and dancehalls.

Bhangra

Bhangra is a lively form of music and dance that originated in the Punjab region in Southeast Asia. As many Bhangra lyrics reflect the long and often tumultuous history of the Punjab, knowledge of Punjabi history offers important insights into the meaning of the music. While Bhangra began as a part of harvest festival celebrations, it eventually became a part of such diverse occasions as weddings and New Year celebrations. Moreover, during the last thirty years, Bhangra has enjoyed a surge in popularity worldwide, both in traditional form and as a fusion with genres such as hip-hop, house, and reggae. As Bhangra continues to move into mainstream culture, an understanding of its history and tradition helps to appreciate it.

Bhangra Instruments

Many different Punjabi instruments contribute to the sound of Bhangra. Although the most important instrument is the dhol drum, Bhangra also features a variety of string and other drum instruments.

The primary and most important instrument that defines Bhangra is the dhol. The dhol is a large, high-bass drum, played by beating it with two sticks. The width of a dhol skin is about fifteen inches in general, and the dhol player holds his instrument with a strap around his neck.

The string instruments include the tumbi, sarangi, sapera, supp, and chimta. The dhad, dafli, dholki, and damru are the other drums. The tumbi, famously mastered by Amar Singh Chamkila, a famous Punjabi singer, is a high-tone, single-string instrument. Although it has only one string, mastering the tumbi takes many years. The sarangi is a multi-stringed instrument, somewhat similar to the violin. The sapera produces a beautiful, high-pitched stringy beat, while the supp and chimta add extra, light sound to Bhangra music. Finally, the dhad, dafli, dholki, and damru are instruments that produce more drum beats, but with much less bass than the dhol drum.

Bhangra Today

Bhangra has come a long way in the 20th Century and has recently taken the entertainment industry by storm. In the 1970s and 1980s, many Punjabi singers from Southeast Asia and the United Kingdom emerged, setting the stage for Bhangra to become a hot new trend in dance music. Modern Bhangra artists, in addition to recording and performing traditional Bhangra, have also fused Bhangra with other music genres, such as hip-hop, reggae, house, and drum-and-bass.

iPods – The King Of MP3’s

Do you remember the days when if you wanted to listen to music, you had to plug in your stereo and hope that the power didn’t go out? Those days are long gone and there are now tons of devices that make it easy to take your music with you. I’m sure that some people still prefer their portable CD players, but almost everyone nowadays either already owns or has their eye on those spanking new mp3 players that are all the rage.

Mp3 players are much more lightweight than CD players, because they don’t require CDs. In fact, most of the top mp3 players allow you to download music directly to your mp3 players’ hard drive. This has drastically reduced the space requirements and today’s mp3 players can easily fit into a shirt or pants pocket. While many brands have their own versions of mp3 players, by far the most popular is undoubtedly the Apple iPod. Here’s why the iPod is so much ahead.

Mp3 players can be put into two categories; those which use flash memory and those which have a hard drive. The iPod Nano boasts an amazing 2GB of storage space, which translates to over 500 songs. The accompanying software is upgradeable so you don’t need to change mp3 players to keep up. You can fine tune the sound quality by using a number of equalizer presets and the device is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.

You really see the iPod’s popularity though when you consider hard drive mp3 players. These typically have a much higher storage capacity than flash memory mp3 players and the iPod is no exception. Although much of the features are the same as its flash memory counterparts, iPod hard drive mp3 players top the scale with a whopping 30 GB of storage and the ability to recognize and play video files as well.

The amount of space offered, and the accompanying features, have put Apple’s mp3 players at the top of many consumers’ wish lists and the iPod continues to hold off challengers. High sales of Ipods have led to a jump in the associated market of iPod accessories. Think of a possible accessory, and it’s probable been made. Today’s iPod accessories comprise the typical headphones and rechargeable adapters, but there is some more creative fare. These iPod accessories include docking stations, speakers and LCD displays. Even the garment industry has jumped on the bandwagon and created iPod accessories in the form of special pockets for your iPod.

Most Important Part of a Loud System

In my opinion, the correct enclosure is vital in getting the most out of your system. This is because the enclosure determines how your sub will react with the given airspace, tuning, and power. For example, a sub in a sealed enclosure will sound very different than one in a ported enclosure. Ported boxes are easy to identify because of the port opening. A combination of port area (length x height) and port length work together to create the tuning frequency. The tuning frequency is denoted by hertz (hz), usually in the 20-70hz range when speaking of sub frequencies. Sub frequencies are also why subwoofers are called "subwoofers" and not simply "woofers" which refer to midrange frequencies. A combination of size and tuning determines the output of a system more than the power or subwoofer itself. You could have a high end subwoofer like a DD 9515, but in the incorrect box, it could be outdone by a lower end sub in an optimized box.

The key to making the best box possible is simple: test, test, test. There is no one best design because every car is different and will react differently with different boxes. Through lots of testing, I found that my car likes large boxes and a 40hz tuning. I've gone up against many people with more than twice the cone area (double the amount of subs) and have come out on top, even though I've got half the cone area in a very restricted sedan rather than the open cabin of an SUV. During these competitions, your score is measured in decibels at your highest frequency. Therefore, it is extremely important to tune your box to reflect your highest outputting frequency. Right now, my box is tuned at 40hz and it also happens to hit its peak output at 40hz. That may or may not be the case for anybody else because as I said before, every car is different. Also, don't forget to take your subwoofer into consideration. Most of the time, you will usually peak a few hz above tuning. E.g. a tuning of 32hz may result in a peak of 40hz, depending on the car of course. In essence, tuning at a certain frequency allows you to control your output and determine what note you want to play the loudest, which is important when taking your car into consideration. Hatchbacks generally hit their highest score at higher frequencies (50-70hz) and SUVs generally hit their highest score at a lower note (40-50hz), while my sedan likes lower notes in the 40hz range the best.

Once you figure out what note your car likes, you can then start optimizing your box by making some small changes. Generally, slightly larger boxes with lower tunings perform best for cars that like lower notes. Slightly smaller boxes with higher tunings tend to complement cars that like higher tunings. For music and daily driving, tunings between 30-40hz are generally accepted as a fair tradeoff between sound quality and loudness.
